The art of shipbuilding reflects in a great deal, and sometimes anticipates the level of human civilization development. It shows brightly the high level of science, natural science and technique development.

Sailboats were used from times immemorial. Desire to sail across rivers, seas and oceans prompted man to create a boat. The first records of boats were found on clay tablets in Egypt, made more than 6000 years ago. Many historians consider that ancient Greeks began to investigate the Aegean sea more than 10,000 years ago. We known from the yachting history that Pharaohs in the Ancient Egypt loved to sale by Nile on the boats made of papyrus. It was customary to bury the mummified remains of Pharaoh together with a boat that it was easier for him to travel in the other world. Indian Maharajah also loved excursion cruises by waters of the Kerala river. Phoenicians were considered very skilful shipbuilders.
Golden Star (former Platinum), 160 meters. This yacht is the unique sample of the ship of the third millennium. Golden Star is the biggest private yacht ever built and its history constantly gives food for ears. This ship is on moorage in commercial port in Dubai presently. Lurssen and Blohm & Voss shipyards built Platinum yacht for Brunei Jeffry prince, who sold it to an emir of Dubai after the bankruptcy. The new owner put a ship in a floating dock in the district of the Persian bay. The yacht, renamed in Golden Star, was taken under intense guard. The work is underway on replanning of its interior after that, which are in progress till now. That's why it's possible to see the model only 1:100 meanwhile.
