Yachting is more than 300 years old already. Yachting rules and etiquette were developed both of necessity and under the influence of ceremonies. Who doesn't know signs: woman on a shipboard is for misfortune; to point the finger at a ship which is going out from the port is to doom it to death; you dropped a mop overside – troubles will follow... These signs were made up under influence of frequent coincidences. Where did they come from? If someone investigates he will discover that they come from following the ordinary yachting rules and etiquette.
Judge for yourself, to point the finger at anything is indecently, not aesthetically and is a sign of bad manners in general. To take a woman in a distant marine travel is to collide constantly with her whims and expose her to inconveniences. It's so simple.
Yachting rules and etiquette already known for everybody (but often simply forgotten) were put together during many years:
1. First yachting rule says that a stranger can enter a ship only after asking the captain's permission.
2. Second yachting rule says that the captain is always right.
3. And if the captain is wrong see above.
5. Yachting rules and etiquette state that there should be a carpet near the ladder of every ship (the special style, if the yacht's name is written on a carpet; many owners have not only carpets but also the line of accessories with symbolism – the brand's name of factory-manufacturer or yacht's name. These accessories with symbolism are very valued and at the yacht sale this factor becomes an additional plus and can even raise price of the yacht).
6. It's necessary to wipe your feet at the entry of a yacht.
7. Don't be surprised if at an entrance somebody offers you a bucket and a mop suddenly, by the yachting etiquette it is the special sign of respect.
8. If you left footprints on somebody's yacht you have to clean after yourself, that'a what yachting rules and etiquette tell us to do.
9. Do not arrange too noisy parties aboard of your yacht if other boats are nearby. The sound flies away very quickly overwater.
10. Do not peep in the opened hatches and airports of other's yachts. This is one of yachting rules and etiquette demands.
11. Do not throw the garbage overside.
12. Respect the owners of local boats, handle with care their property and moorages.
13. Yachting rules and etiquette tell us always to ask a permission if it is necessary to moor to the side of another yacht.
14. Reduce the speed at passing of another yacht, not creating the wave.
15. The first mug is filled for a captain, and the first toast is always for ladies.
16. Yachtsmen dress up not only before meeting with ladies, meeting with a dry land is also a holiday: a yacht is decorated with the small flags.
