| Fishing on Your Own Boat |

Fishing boats. What is so special about them? Aren't boats all the same? They are not as it appears. All fishing boats are divided into cruisers and fishing boats. Cruisers are much more comfortable since this is the main, what they are intended for. Quite different requirements are made to the fishing boats. Foremost, fisherman will feel more comfortable if he is able to go around a ship along the board; this requirement does not spread on cruisers. Fishing boats are build the way that on a perimeter of the ship, around a deck-house there was a wide passage-way, sunk below the side edge, protected by durable railings (metal hand-rails). This structural feature allows the crew and guests to move more confidently on a side. This conception of the fishing boat equipment got the name “walkaround”. Though, due to the comfort above the deck, a comfort in the cabin decreases, but as this is not a cruiser, it's viewed not as place for comfort rest, but only as temporal shelter from a dull weather or a place for spending the night. Nevertheless, the necessary minimum of comfort is present there.
Fishing Boats - Every Bit Counts
So, driver's chair on many fishing boats easily "transforms" into... mini-oven, sink with a faucet and cutting board. All this is made with the maximal economy of working space. It's very comfortable to have opened stern cockpit on a fishing boat. It's worthy to give preference to self draining cockpit on fishing boat. It'll be easier in this case to pour out gathered water or to wash a deck after fishing: it will be necessary just to open outlet for pouring of water out. The surface of cockpit and promenade deck must be slip-resistant, this is obligatory safety requirement.
It's important that stern cockpit was spacious, since boat's owner and his friends usually are situated there. It should be mentioned also that a hard roof is made on cruisers more frequent than others: it is unremovable and the construction element. Such roof is not always comfortable for a fishing boat, as the space limited with it can be used exceptionally as captain`s deck-house - while the removable one multiplies movement freedom all along cockpit considerably. Thus, in an ideal variant, a roof must be an awning which covers fully the deck-house space, and the entrance is provided with lightning. Exactly these details distinguish cruiser from fishing boat. Everything should be maximally comfortable in the last one for fishing and simply for rest on water.
"Workhorse" Fishing Boat
It's good to feel comfort, but it`s not above all things for the real fisherman. Choosing a boat, he, certainly, will be curious about its working qualities. We're telling you that there is such a term in boats classification as category. Boats, having various hull outlines, are figured on different sea roughness. Taking into account the possible fishing aquatorium, we advise you to give preference to category "B". Such ships enable you to sail in offshore waters. The boat of category "B" will allow you to feel confidently and safely in a bad weather - until the weather will not be changed.
Fishing boats are made mainly in skimming type now. It means boats don't submerge in water fully, but sail on a wave on the hull edge. This technique differs by high speed qualities and is made both in fishing and in cruise variants. The last one are less manoeuvrable and are not so comfortable for fishing. They are intended for quiet motion, and manoeuvrability doesn't matter in this case: it's not a "workhorse".

Motor of the fishing boat is also of great importance (it can be both stationary and outboard motor). Everything depends here on the customer preferences. Some value power more: they want to put to sea and to be able to navigate a cutter, that the boat showed itself in all its beauty. Others acquire a ship with a diesel motor - not too powerful, but economical, what is very important in the sea conditions: scarcely anybody would like to find himself far away from a shore without a fuel. As it's not too many fuel stations for boats along the shore, we advise you to pay attention to the fuel tank volume: you will feel more calm with a large one. The volume of fuel tank in 230 liters is considered a very good characteristic. A boat with such fuel capacity can sail during 12-14 hours. Scarcely you are going to perform round-the-world voyages by it, but to go fishing on weekend - easily!
It's also important to pay attention what material a hull is made of. Fishing boats mainly are made of plastic nowadays, although there are aluminium hulls. It's difficult to say what is better. Each of them have both advantages and disadvantages. It's being thought that hulls made of aluminium are more reliable: it's metal after all, if something happen to it, it's always possible to weld it and use further. Actually modern plastic is also maintainable, as metal. Besides, there are express-sets for fishing boats, which is possible to use in the case of hull's damage, until it would be possible to repair the boat in the port conditions. Plastic allows to get unusual hull configuration, which gives good navigability to the boat. Aluminium is less flexible in this sense.
In conclusion we should mention that shops and producers offer not so many fishing boat models now. They try to combine "2 in 1" often, and in the total it results neither first nor second. It's fundamentally important to keep the boat specifications strictly.
