Using proven and tested hull form, Baja shipyard is not afraid of technical progress. Not changing hulls' outline, they improve materials and technologies of production, thus reducing price of the production process. Lovers of high sea high-speed ships in the USA are still faithful to outlines of deep-V type. Such type is not sensible to the wave and the ship differs with even motion.
Like all Baja® boats, Baja very first model was something special. In a bold display of drive and determination, four owner/employees assembled the original design in an abandoned roller skating rink in 1971. What they lacked in resources, they made up for in motivation — a single-minded mission to build the finest performance boats in the world. Over the next two years, Baja Boats was born, and a product line of 14- to 20-footers, including the classic CT 150 racing design, took shape.
Company spent the 1970s perfecting nontraditional designs, further solidifying Baja's styling and position as an innovator. That’s when Baja took the lead in exclusively pursuing the sport boat market. It was a move that paid off when first big high-performance boat, the Carrera 240, was introduced in 1978. And the 1979 Carrera SS Bowrider earned a Powerboat Magazine "Boat of the Year" award its first year out!
Interest and attention of the company slowly shifted towards creating bigger, better offshore products with improved design and structural integrity. Progressive product development has always been the core of the Baja philosophy. Company expanded their line in the early 1990s, Baja confirmed its place as the industry leader in style, performance and quality.
Over four decades of mind-blowing innovation, and Baja continues to blaze new trails and redefine the category of performance boats. We call it the evolution of performance. Now strap yourself in and get ready for a revolution in performance... the next generation of Baja.
To make a ship move faster, it's enough to learn a simple truth: the higher is ratio of power to weight, the faster is the ship. Actually, this is correct for displacement hulls, however sportsmen-racers forgot all other types except of skimming hull forms. So for higher speed you need to decrease weight and to add power. Baja is busy doing this! Easy to guess that it's not so simple. It's so easy to overload your ship with a powerful engine and then to be surprised that it jumps as a ball at the smallest wave, either skids or simply goes out of control.
Baja produces a few series of boats, which are balanced on weight and power, where engine is established correspondingly to a ship purpose. As a result the ship is not too deep in the water and easily ascends to a wave, what is not always possible with too heavy engines. Baja created a special screw of stainless steel for each produced ship for each engine to receive maximum possibilities from engines. A combination "screw-boat-engine" is tested then and marked by the Baja sign, so that user was sure of boat tuning. Small wings, passing through all the hull, are visible on it: this gives perfection to the hydroplane idea.
When you own a Baja you get more than just head-turning style and adrenaline-pumping speed. You become part of a lifestyle that translates into non-stop
excitement, never-ending weekends and flat-out fun.
